Reward Travel alone and stay the best ♩
2 days and 1 night to experience the extraordinary

A woman who enjoyed traveling alone in Kyoto will introduce how she actually spent her time at Suiran Luxury Collection Hotel Kyoto.

First day

About 6 minutes on foot from Arashiyama Station to the inn

Arrive at Arashiyama Station
Take a stroll around famous places

A fun trip to give yourself a reward starts! When you arrive at Arashiyama Station, the first thing you should do is go sightseeing. Why don't you go to famous places such as "Daihikaku Senkoji" with a superb view, the world heritage site "Tenryu-ji", and "Chikurin no Michi" which is gaining popularity on SNS?

late 40s / office worker

Stayed in September 2021

The chief priest of Daihikaku Senkoji wrote a goshuin while chatting with us. We had a blast talking about Ryoi Kadokura, who excavated the Oi River (Hozu River)!

Arrive at the inn

Take a rickshaw to your accommodation.
Experience the elegance of Kyoto

Check in at a stately inn. Expectations are high for the splendid Japanese garden and reception. Here you can use a free pick-up service by rickshaw from the three main stations in Arashiyama. You can also ask the dedicated concierge for travel information.

When I arrived in front of the hotel by rickshaw, the staff welcomed me at the gate.

With onsen open-air bath
High-quality space that makes your heart flutter

17 out of 39 rooms are equipped with an open-air bath where you can soak in Arashiyama onsen. There are various types of rooms, such as a Japanese-style room with a garden, and a modern Japanese-style twin room with a balcony. The average size is 44 square meters, and the interior is decorated with traditional Japanese colors.

We stayed in a room called "Tsuki no Oto" which has a balcony. Relax with a drink and listen to the sounds of nature.

Looking out over the Hozu River
special tea time

After relaxing in your room, head to “Saryo Hassui”, which makes use of the historical architecture♡Enjoy drinks and Japanese sweets while watching the boats coming and going on the Hozu River. You can also enjoy afternoon tea by reservation from 12:30 to 14:00.

On the terrace of "Saryo Hassui", we had a refreshing cold tea and delicious Japanese sweets while gazing at the beautiful jade-colored Hozu River. You can also enjoy a stroll in the garden.

at two restaurants
your favorite dinner

There are two restaurants in the hotel where you can enjoy a luxurious dinner. The kaiseki cuisine and French fused dishes at "Kyo-Suiran" and the teppanyaki course at "Kanzan" are exquisite. Also check out the plan where you can enjoy an in-room dinner.

Surrounded by fine fragrance
relaxing bath time

After dinner, enjoy an elegant bath time. Each guest room has a different bathtub, such as a Japanese-style open-air bath or a stylish bathtub. Amenities from the perfume brand Byredo are also available. If you're feeling tired, try one of the spa treatments that require a reservation and are available for a fee.

The bath salt provided in the room bath was soothing with the scent of cypress. After bathing, I put on a fluffy bathrobe and relaxed on the balcony.

the 2nd day

About 4 minutes on foot from the inn

Togetsukyo x Asahi
My heart trembles...

Why don't you get up early on the second day and go see the superb view of Arashiyama? Being able to see the collaboration between Togetsukyo Bridge and the rising sun is the real pleasure of staying overnight. Capture picturesque scenery such as the madder river surface, pale pink clouds, and the shadows of small boats.

Wake up early and go for a walk in search of scenery that can only be seen by staying overnight. I was so moved that I almost cried when I was able to see the sunrise over the Togetsukyo Bridge.

A side view of the Japanese garden
Enjoy your choice of breakfast

After a refreshing morning walk, enjoy a breakfast at "Kyo-Suiran" where you can choose between Japanese and Western styles. The building used to be the villa of Mr. Shozo Kawasaki, the founder of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. You can spend the morning while looking out at the garden.

I choose Japanese food. Starting with colorful fresh juices, there are many side dishes with elegant tastes typical of Kyoto.

until the last minute
I want to enjoy my stay

I would like to relax in my room until check-out. If you have a room with a balcony, you can enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the view. It is also recommended to enjoy a bath in the reservation-only, fee-based private onsen open-air bath.

I brewed coffee in the room and enjoyed it while listening to birds chirping on the balcony.

leave the inn

Once you have decided where to go
Leisurely departure

Check out is late at 12:00, so there is no need to rush. Check the directions to the temples and sightseeing spots you want to visit, ask the concierge for recommended spots, and be ready to go.

by rental cycle
Unique temple tour

There are plenty of rental bicycles around Arashiyama, so why not go around the sights by bicycle? There are many temples that you should visit at least once, such as Daikakuji Temple, which was once the imperial residence of Emperor Saga, Gioji Temple, which is famous for its moss garden, and Nisonin Temple, which is famous for its autumn leaves.

Visit Daikaku-ji, Gio-ji, and Nison-in using a rental bicycle. After buying souvenirs at Randen Arashiyama Station, I was healed in the footbath, which is a privilege of renting a bicycle.

Return trip16:00

with satisfaction
Leisurely return home

Stay at a stately luxury hotel, and visit temples and other sightseeing spots as your curiosity guides you to completely refresh yourself. It seems that you can feel positive. Let's go home leisurely while looking back on the memories of traveling alone.
