Birthday date at a luxury inn in Arashiyama ♡
Two days and one night to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Kyoto as a couple
A woman who enjoyed a trip to Kyoto as a couple will introduce the person who actually stayed at "Togetsutei".
First day
Start12:30
About 7 minutes on foot from Arashiyama Station to the inn
To Kyoto by Shinkansen
Impressed by "Togetsukyo Bridge"
Let's go to Kyoto with him on his birthday once a year ♡ Let's head to Arashiyama, one of the most popular spots in Kyoto by bullet train and train. The moment you see the emotional "Togetsukyo Bridge" is impressive. If you want to go sightseeing empty-handed, you may leave your luggage at the inn first.
Lunch13:30
About 8 minutes on foot from the inn
In "Arashiyama Kijuro"
Enjoy the grilled meat heavy lunch
First of all, why don't you enjoy high-quality grilled meat at "Arashiyama Kijuro", where you can enjoy the garden in the city of Arashiyama? The juicy Japanese beef steak goes perfectly with the Japanese-style sauce that contains the “Arima sansho pepper”.
At “Arashiyama Kijuro,” we had a set menu of wagyu beef “Yakinikuju” with soup rolls and boiled tofu. It was so delicious!
Check-in16:00
Arrive at the inn
with gratitude for your thoughtfulness
check in
Once you're full, check in at Togetsutei, your accommodation for the night. The interior is full of charm with its eye-catching Japanese furnishings. The sound of the koto also tickles the traveler's mind. Head to your room while enjoying Kyoto-style hospitality.
We were greeted politely while the scent of incense filled the air. I was also happy to receive a welcome matcha green tea and fresh sweets.
Room16:30
Guest rooms with open-air baths
A room full of Kyoto atmosphere
There are two guest rooms, Hekisenkaku on the riverside and Shuzankaku on the mountainside, and the two buildings are connected by an underground passage. There are various types of rooms, such as rooms with open-air baths, rooms with onsen, and Japanese-style rooms with 8 tatami mats. Some rooms have a view of the Oi River.
I stayed at "Kouun no Ma" in Hekisenkaku. It was a very spacious and wonderful room with an open-air bath and a cypress bath facing the river.
Relax17:00
nice room with bath
Bathing for two alone
After relaxing in your room, take a bath and relax. If you have a room with an open-air bath or a semi-open-air bath, you can enjoy an open-air bath. Would you like to spend some time alone in the bathtub with green plants and indirect lighting?
Dinner18:00
Gourmet couples are also very satisfied
Kyo-kaiseki with a sense of the seasons
For dinner, you can enjoy "Kyoto Kaiseki cuisine" in your room or at meal. There are 9 to 10 dishes using seasonal ingredients. Kyoto cuisine is known for its light taste, which does not impair the taste of the ingredients themselves. You can spend a luxurious night suitable for your birthday.
Satisfied with the hearty kaiseki cuisine! We had plenty of dishes using high-quality ingredients such as sashimi grilled, cooked, Japanese, steamed in an earthenware pot, and desserts.
Night20:00
About 7 minutes on foot from the inn
at kimono forest
night walk date
How about a romantic date for a walk around the hotel at night? The "Kimono Forest" where the poles of Kyo-Yuzen are lit up is perfect for couples. In addition, the illumination of "Kyoto Arashiyama Hanatouro" held every December is also a must-see.
Onsen21:00
Large public bath or private bath
Enjoy Arashiyama onsen
For couples who love onsen, how about soaking in the large public baths and private baths at onsen? There is a separate charge for the private bath, but the large bath can be used by two people.
the 2nd day
Breakfast08:00
Yudofu from a long-established store ♡
Freshly made breakfast
Breakfast is served in your room or in the banquet hall. Guests staying at Hekisenkaku can enjoy a Japanese set meal, and guests staying at Shuzankaku can enjoy a Japanese set meal or a Japanese buffet. Yudofu from the famous tofu shop “Morika” in Arashiyama is especially recommended.
We had a meal in the banquet hall. Grilled fish, boiled tofu, soup rolls, etc. were all freshly made and warm, and the rice progressed.
Freetime09:00
wrapped in the morning air
Occupy the open-air bath for two
If you have time, why not take a refreshing bath before and after breakfast? If you have a room with an open-air bath or a semi-open-air bath, you can enjoy a hot bath while feeling the fresh air. Celebrate your birthday with him warmly.
Finally, I enjoyed the open-air bath in my room. The view in the morning was very refreshing and pleasant.
Check-out10:00
leave the inn
Hoping to visit again
check out
I still want to relax in my room, but it's about time to check out. At the shop on the 1st floor of Hekisenkaku, you can also enjoy choosing souvenirs. Kyoto-style delicacies such as Japanese sweets, pickles, and incense are available.
Quickly pack your bags and check out. I also stopped by the shop and bought the incense that was smelling in the hallway♪
Sightseeing11:00
two people get along
Let's go around the city of Kyoto
Would you like to go sightseeing actively on the second day? Kyoto is full of highlights, so it is recommended that you narrow down your focus and go around efficiently. The "Bamboo Forest Road" full of the atmosphere of the ancient city and the photogenic "Kyoto Aquarium" are perfect for dates ♡
Take a rickshaw tour of Arashiyama and take a commemorative photo in front of the "Bamboo Grove Road" and "Togetsukyo Bridge". After that, we moved by train and stopped at "Kyoto Aquarium".
Return trip15:00
Birthday memories in my heart
Leisurely return home
Stay with him at a long-established ryokan in Arashiyama, and savor the high-quality Kyoto kaiseki meal♪ If you tour the beautiful town that looks like a picture scroll from the Heian period, you're sure to leave a lasting memory. Let's go home while savoring the happiness of the trip.

Enjoy an extraordinary experience at a long-established inn in Arashiyama
2 days and 1 night to make more memories of girls' trip
A woman who traveled to Kyoto and Arashiyama with four female friends will introduce how she spent her time when she actually stayed at "Kyoto Arashiyama onsen Togetsutei".
First day
Start11:00
About 7 minutes on foot from Arashiyama Station to the inn
To Arashiyama, where the atmosphere of the ancient capital drifts
Sightseeing around the area
When you arrive at Arashiyama, one of the most scenic spots in Kyoto with your friends, first leave your luggage at the inn and go sightseeing. Listen to the rustling of the bamboo grass on the road... spend such an elegant time.
I went to Arashiyama with four classmates from high school. After walking around the bamboo grove and Tenryu-ji Temple, we had a cup of tea at the stylish riverside restaurant Muni La Terrace.
Check-in16:00
Arrive at the inn
An inn near Togetsukyo Bridge
check-in
Check in at the inn located at the south end of "Togetsukyo Bridge." The surrounding natural scenery is also very relaxing. The guest rooms are "Hekisenkaku" on the riverside and "Shuzankaku" on the hillside. Both have a stately appearance that evokes the establishment of the inn in 1897.
Room16:30
In a room with a semi-open-air bath
A special girls' trip...
There is a wide variety of rooms full of Kyoto atmosphere. If you want to be particular about the view, consider the Hekisenkaku room, which offers a superb view of the Oi River and Mt. Ogura. If you choose a room with an open-air bath or a semi-open-air bath, you should be even more satisfied.
The Hekisenkaku guest room with a semi-open-air bath was not too big or too small, just the right amount of space for four people. I was also happy with the tea service and the hospitality of freshly made matcha.
Dinner18:00
Enjoy with your eyes and tongue
Enliven your heart with Kyoto Kaiseki
At dinnertime, you can enjoy the monthly "Kyoto Kaiseki Meal" in your room or at the meal place. With 9~10 dishes made with seasonal ingredients, let's take your time to enjoy the beauty of the beautiful ♡ and traditional Kyoto kaiseki like a work of art.
The kaiseki meal we had in our room was just the right amount for a woman in her 40s. Ingredients with a sense of the season are cooked in a way that reflects the season, and you can enjoy it with your eyes.
Onsen20:00
Soak in hot water for beautiful skin
Large public bath & private bath
Next, would you like to soak in Arashiyama Onsen, which is known as the "hot spring for beautiful skin" in the public baths and private baths at "Shuzankaku onsen? There is a separate charge for the private bath, but you can have the large bath all to yourself without worrying about the public eye.
Hekisenkaku, where the guest room we stayed in, and Shuzankaku, where the large public bath is located, are connected by an underground passageway, so after bathing, I was able to return to my room without getting cold.
Night21:00
Women's Talk Booms
evening drink time
After onsen, it's time for a long-awaited chat. Let's have a heartwarming moment. It seems like it would be fun to get along and do skin care together.
After getting out of the bath, we went back to our room and had a great time drinking alcohol together.
the 2nd day
Morning06:00
wake up a little early
Relax in the morning bath
If you are an early riser, why not take a refreshing bath before breakfast? If you have a room with an open-air bath or a semi-open-air bath, you can enjoy a hot bath while feeling the fresh air. Besides this, you can also go to the public bath that opens from 6:00 am.
I took a bath in the room before breakfast and felt refreshed! This was not onsen, but the temperature was maintained 24 hours a day, and the hot water was always good.
Breakfast08:00
Plenty of ingredients from Kyoto♡
Relax with a Japanese breakfast
Breakfast is served in your room or in the banquet hall. Guests staying at Hekisenkaku can enjoy a Japanese set meal, while guests staying at Shuzankaku can enjoy a Japanese set meal or a Japanese buffet. Enjoy a wide variety of Kyoto cuisine such as Yudofu from the famous restaurant "Morika" and small bowls of the day.
Freetime09:00
until the last minute
Enjoy a ryokan Stay
Enjoy some free time before check-out. You can enjoy the view from your room or take your time preparing for your departure. We also recommend buying some Kyoto-style souvenirs such as Japanese sweets, pickles, and incense at the shop on the first floor of "Hekisenkaku."
Check-out10:00
leave the inn
with gratitude for your thoughtfulness
check out
Check out while thanking the warm hospitality. You can leave your luggage at the inn even after you check out, so you can go sightseeing empty-handed.
Activity11:00
You can even go down the river on a trolley!
Return to childhood in nature
Let's enjoy an active girls' trip on the second day. Around Arashiyama, there are plenty of spots and activities where you can get in touch with nature, such as the Sagano Torokko Train and the Hozu River Boat Ride. I feel like I'm back in my childhood.
The "Sagano Torokko Train" was comfortable in the natural cooler. On the "Hozu River Boat Ride", I enjoyed not only the scenery but also the storytelling skills of the boatman.
Return trip16:00
With the memories of a girls' trip in mind
go back to each other
If you stay at a long-established inn that represents Arashiyama with your good friends and enjoy Kyoto kaiseki cuisine and Arashiyama onsen, you will be completely refreshed. Let's go home leisurely while talking about "I want to stay with everyone again".
