A long-established ryokan overlooking the Yubatake
Two adult days spent with parents
A woman who traveled to Kusatsu with her parents will introduce how she actually spent her time at "Naraya".
First day
Start10:00
About 180 minutes by car from the city center to the inn
with my parents
To Kusatsu onsen by car
Kusatsu onsen is famous for Yubatake. The charming town is packed with sightseeing spots such as ryokan, souvenir shops, and Kosenji Temple. Whether you want to take it easy or enjoy sightseeing, it will be a satisfying trip for both.

Popular soba restaurant in Kusatsu
Lunch at Mikuniya
"Sangokuya" is located about 3 minutes on foot from Yubatake. The most popular dish is the Mikuni Soba, which serves 2.5 people.
I happened to stop by because the gate looks nice, but it seems to be a popular store and the store is full! It might be a good idea to go with plenty of time to spare.
Check-in14:00
Arrive at the inn
Yubatake is right there!
To a long-established ryokan with a long history
Naraya is an inn with a history founded in the Meiji period. We welcome you with a warm atmosphere and warm hospitality. Even though it is located about 1 minute on foot from the bustling Kusatsu symbol "Yubatake", you can forget the hustle and bustle and relax.
It was also published in the "Five Star Inn" published by "Kanko Keizai Shimbunsha", and it was a very nice ryokan. The corridors and stairs in the hotel are also tatami-matted, so it was comfortable to walk barefoot.
Room14:15
A wide variety of room types!
Japanese modern guest room
The guest rooms have a cute, modern Japanese atmosphere that will lift your spirits. In addition to spacious Japanese-Western rooms and simple Western-style rooms, there are also designer rooms such as the "Sen'yutei" room, so you're sure to find the room that's best for you.
Overnight at Minezakura, where you can see the Yubatake. There are 3 rooms where you can relax and relax under the kotatsu. The hot water field from the round window was beautiful, and I was able to enjoy the atmosphere of Kusatsu even in my room.
Sightseeing15:30
About 1 minute walk to the inn
Traditional at "Netsunoyu"
Watch the Yumomi Show
Netsunoyu is an eye-catching Taisho Roman-style building. You can see Kusatsu's traditional "Yumomi Show" up close with the chants of "Choina Choina♪".
Purchase a ticket in front of Netsunoyu. I also bought a commemorative face towel. I was able to see it from both the 1st and 2nd floors, and the first yumomi show was fun!
Dinner18:00
in a private meal room
Beautiful seasonal Japanese banquet dishes
There are three meal different atmospheres: "Kura", "Mai", and "Noh". All of them are private rooms, so you can enjoy meal leisurely with your loved ones. Beautiful Japanese kaiseki cuisine using seasonal ingredients and the tastes of Gunma will add color to the evening of your trip to Kusatsu.
Due to the corona crisis, meal in the private room was very good. I was able to relax and enjoy delicious food.
Night20:00
lit up
Take a walk in the Yubatake at night
Yubatake at night where the light melts into the rising steam. Basically, the lights are on from sunset to 24:00, so it is recommended not only for a walk after eating, but also for a walk after taking a bath.
Relax22:00
With the smoothest hot water
heal the tiredness of the day
At "Naraya", there is a craftsman called "Yumori", a traditional Japanese culture. A large public bath that carefully manages the hot water that changes according to the weather and climate. Soaking in the smooth hot water created by the Yumori's kneading is paradise.
the 2nd day

Moist morning hot onsen
In addition to the 24-hour free-flowing hot springs, there are three private baths in addition to the large public baths "Shogun Gokumiage no Yu" and "Hana no Yu," which consist of an open-air bath and an indoor bath. The private baths come with tatami mats, giving you plenty of privacy.
onsen in the morning aiming for a time when there are not many people. The Hana-no-Yu bath, which is made by hollowing out a large 200-year-old pine tree, was soothing to the heart, combined with the emotional atmosphere.
Morning07:00
in emerald green
Sparkling Yubatake in the Morning
In the morning, the yubatake is eye-catching with its emerald green scenery, which is completely different from the night. There is also a free footbath, so you can spend your time slowly waking up in the morning.
There aren't many people in Yubatake in the early morning, so it's also recommended for taking pictures!
