Located right next to onsen town, Tosen Goshobo was founded in 1911 and is the oldest inn in Arima onsen, with a history of about 800 years. The moment you enter the building, you'll feel like you've traveled back in time, yet with a modern atmosphere that has a slightly foreign feel to it.

In addition to the beautiful old-fashioned architecture, the entrance hall is decorated with Chinese poetry, giving you the mysterious feeling of being in a foreign country. Each painting and ornament on the wall is sophisticated and stylish. You'll feel as if you've entered the world of a historical novel.

The location away from the city center gives it an elegant and adult atmosphere. This is an adult-only inn, and children under 12 years old (including infants) are not allowed to stay here. It's a place where you can feel the slow flow of time that you would normally be too busy to pay a visit to.

Inside the building, there are flowers arranged by the owner, an accomplished ikebana practitioner, and a variety of artworks from his collection. Gekkoen Yugetsu Sanso is located about a 5-minute drive from Arima onsen Station, and if you make a reservation by phone they will provide a free shuttle service. From Gekko Bridge on the premises, you can get a panoramic view of the waterfall and nature, and the gorgeous view from here makes you feel like you are looking down on a small village. At night, the ryokan is lit up, offering a completely different view than during the day. The building is historic and has an atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era, but it is clean and very comfortable.
