“Kaihinso Kamakura” is designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. A historic ryokan in a very quiet location less than a minute's walk from Enoshima Electric Railway Yuigahama Station. The Western-style part of the building was built in 1924 as a villa for Mr. Ichiro Murata, the president of Fuji Paper Manufacturing. In 1952, it was opened to the public as ryokan.
In 1992, it was designated as Kamakura City's No. 7 Important Landscape Building. This inn may be the best way to get to know the good old days of Kamakura.
