ryokan stay that colors the anniversary ♪
Two days to enjoy onsen and gastronomy
We will introduce the course when a woman who celebrated her anniversary on a couple's trip actually stayed at "Wagokoro no Yado Omori".
First day
Start13:00
About 30 minutes by car to the inn
From a visit to Haruna Shrine
Journey starts♪
After driving to Gunma, the first thing to do is to head to Haruna Shrine, which is close to Ikaho onsen. It is also famous as a power spot, and is said to bring benefits such as good luck and prosperous business. Let's worship while enjoying the surrounding nature.
Check-in15:00
Arrive at the inn
in the tatami-floored lobby
Japanese style check-in
Drive for about 30 minutes and arrive at Ikaho onsen. The inn is also close to the stone steps. If you drive the car directly to the entrance, the staff will move it to the parking lot. After entering the hall and taking off your shoes, you will enter a relaxing space with tatami mats.
When I parked my car in front of the inn, the staff carried the car to the private parking lot. We received coffee or tea as hospitality, and received a polite and kind explanation.
Room16:00
Feel the four seasons of Ikaho
warm rooms
There are 34 rooms in total. There are various types of rooms, from compact Japanese-style rooms to special Japanese-style rooms for groups and Western-style rooms. Some rooms have a bath with a view. If you look at the yuzen dyeing and chigiri paintings of flowers blooming in Ikaho arranged in various places, you can feel the four seasons and relax.
Stay in a Japanese-style room with the soothing scent of tatami mats. I chose a cute yukata and obi that I rented out, changed clothes, and relaxed in my room. The service of laying out the futon is also wonderful ◎
Sightseeing17:00
Around the inn
One of Japan's three most famous stages
Take a stroll along the stone steps
After unpacking, stroll around the onsen town. As the Ikaho onsen town is also known as the stone steps town, shops such as souvenir shops, steamed bun shops, and amusement parks such as shooting games are lined up across the stone steps. There is also a footbath spot to soothe your tired feet.
Dinner19:00
Local production for local consumption of meat and fish
Enjoy Ikaho Kaiseki
Dinner will be served at meal. This kaiseki dinner is full of local elements, such as Gunma-grown rainbow trout called "ginhikari" and Gunma's specialty stewed noodles called "okirikomi udon. Kaiseki with "Yawaraka Jyoshu Beef" is also recommended ◎
There are many dishes that you can enjoy with your eyes, such as appetizers, mountain delicacies, and seafood delicacies! It was a pleasure to celebrate with a sparkling cocktail from ryokan for the anniversary service ♪
Onsen21:00
Wrapped in silver hot water
Enjoy the onsen atmosphere
The water used at this inn is the colorless and transparent "Silver Water" of Ikaho's famous hot springs. Inside the building there are two types of rooftop open-air baths at an altitude of 800m, a private open-air bath, and an indoor bath. Enjoy a relaxing time in the open-air bath while feeling the breeze.
Take a bath in the private open-air bath reserved at check-in. It was spacious enough for my husband and I had a sense of privacy, so I was able to relax ♪
the 2nd day
Onsen07:00
While overlooking the superb view
A morning soaking in onsen
When you wake up, it's time for a morning bath. Rooftop open-air bath "Roman" is a spacious garden-type bath at an altitude of 800m. In the clear morning air, enjoy a luxurious bathing experience while gazing at the majestic nature of Mt. Akagi and the Hotaka mountain range.
In the morning, I took a rooftop open-air bath. Bathing while watching the spectacular view of the forest lit by the morning sun was very soothing. It warms you from the core of your body, and the condition of your dry skin has improved.
Breakfast08:00
An array of local dishes
a hearty breakfast
Breakfast is also served at the meal hall. It is a menu that is truly local, such as egg-cooked rice using eggs from local poultry farms and steamed seasonal vegetables delivered from local farmers. Recharge your energy for the day here.
We had Japanese food for breakfast. Freshly cooked rice, miso soup, and pickles were lined up.
Check-out10:00
leave the inn
Take a good look at the souvenirs
check out
Search for souvenirs at the Mingei-do shop until check-out time. Local specialties such as Ikaho onsen 's famous confection "Yunohana Manju" are lined up. Also check out ryokan 's original "Ikahoka" scented goods.
At the souvenir shop, I bought green onion rice crackers from Gunma. It was very delicious with the flavor of green onions ♪ It was a great two days for our anniversary and I want to go again!
Sightseeing11:00
About 8 minutes on foot from the inn
Climb 365 steps
To "Ikaho Shrine"
After leaving ryokan, head to Ikaho onsen, a shrine that protects Ikaho Onsen. It is located further up the stone steps. There is also a legend that if you climb the 365 stone steps, you will have better luck with money. The view of the onsen town from the hill of the shrine will soothe your soul.
I visited "Ikaho Shrine" and received a goshuin. We ate ball konnyaku at the shop along the stairs, played shooting, and had a great time in the old-fashioned onsen town♪
Return trip14:00
Enjoy the famous hot springs of Ikaho
2 days of anniversary
Two days of enjoying the famous hot springs of Ikaho as a couple. You can enjoy local sake in an open-air bath with a spectacular view of 800m above sea level, and enjoy gourmet cuisine made with plenty of local ingredients from Gunma. I went there by my own car. Visit Haruna Shrine before heading to the inn. The clear air of the precincts was surrounded by many cedar trees and powerful rocks, and I felt the power.
