Lunch10:30
About 30 minutes by public transportation to the inn
At "Hatsuhana Main Store"
early lunch
First, have a meal at Hatsuhana Main Store. This is a famous soba restaurant on the banks of the Hayakawa River. Yamakake soba, made with high-quality wild yam, is a dish you'll want to try at least once!
Sightseeing12:30
About 15 minutes by public transportation to the inn
Move on the Hakone Tozan Railway
leisurely sightseeing
Hakone's mountainside has various attractions such as museums, scenic spots, and cafes. Enjoy your travel time on the Hakone Tozan Railway, which offers a spectacular view.
At Miyanoshita's "Naraya Cafe", I had the "Naraya Parfait" where you can choose the type of red bean paste. It was very comfortable in the store with the smell of wood.
Check-in15:00
Arrive at the inn
Softly scented with Hakone Byakudan
Arrive at a classy ryokan
From Kowakidani Station, head to the inn by courtesy car and check in surrounded by the scent of Hakone Byakudan. Soothe away the fatigue of your trip while enjoying the spectacular view of Hakone.
The scent of Hakone Byakudan is everywhere in the hall! We were served welcome sweets and matcha green tea in a wonderful atmosphere, and I felt relieved.
Recommendations from facility staff
Manager Koichi Negami
As the name of "Hakone Byakudan" suggests, the theme of this hotel is fragrance. In the hall, you can enjoy different types of incense in the morning and evening.
Room15:30
In a room with an incense burner
relax time
All 16 guest rooms are modern Japanese with a calm atmosphere. There is a stylish electronic incense burner, so you can enjoy the scent even in your room. Relax and unwind in a comfortable space.
There was a wide variety of free drinks in the lobby, so I brought them back to my room. The sweets called "Usuka" in the room were also very delicious!
Onsen16:00
In the guest room open-air bath
Be healed by natural onsen
All rooms have an open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water, so you can enjoy a onsen bath in a private space. Soak yourself whenever you like and heal your tired body.
I immediately entered the open-air bath in my room and spent a relaxing time until dinner. It was also a pretty nice point that the amenities were "Mikimoto".
Recommendations from facility staff
Operations Manager Taku Uchida
The open-air bath in the guest room is fed directly from the source, so you can enjoy as much fresh onsen as you like while gazing at the nature of the four seasons.
Dinner18:00
Delicate kaiseki cuisine
Thoroughly enjoy
The kaiseki cuisine prepared by our chefs is full of seasonal flavors from Hakone and Sagami Bay. Take your time and savor it together with carefully selected sake and wine.
The meal was of high quality! Also, I'm not good at alcohol, so I was happy that there were many types of non-alcoholic drinks such as high-quality tea.
Recommendations from facility staff
Reception Manager Ms. Seika Ishida
Dinner is a special kaiseki meal. You can enjoy the beauty of Japan's four seasons with your eyes and tongue. It goes well with the famous sake that we have from all over the country.
Spa20:00
At the public bath or beauty treatment salon
relax time
Enjoy a onsen bath in the large public bath. You can enjoy a different taste from the open-air bath in the guest room. As a reward for yourself, we also recommend getting an aroma treatment at SPA Kodan.
At night, I went to the large public bath. Because there are few rooms, it is in a chartered state from beginning to end. After taking a bath, I was able to relax with ice cream as a service.
Lounge21:00
watching the fire in the fireplace
Moist night time
At night, the lobby lounge has a calm atmosphere, and you can relax like a bar. How about relaxing on the sofa and slowly enjoying your favorite drink?
At night, I enjoyed free drinks and snacks in the lobby while gazing at the warm fire in the fireplace. It was a luxurious reward time.
the 2nd day
Morning07:30
in the refreshing scenery
Have an elegant morning
Enjoy the morning bath in your room, or enjoy the view from the open lobby. Start your day with a refreshing feeling in front of the beautiful mountains of Hakone.
In the morning, we toasted with non-alcoholic morning champagne. The weather was fine, and I spent an elegant morning looking at the mountains of Hakone.
Recommendations from facility staff
Operations Manager Taku Uchida
The panorama of Sagami Bay from the Hakone mountain range, which can be seen from the lobby, is a masterpiece!
Breakfast08:00

Warm Japanese breakfast
There are plenty of seasonal ingredients for breakfast. Simple and healthy Japanese food that emphasizes the quality of the ingredients. The white rice is cooked in an earthenware pot, and the aroma of the burnt rice will whet your appetite.
You can choose from 3 types of main grilled fish. The alfonsino I chose was quite luxurious, and I was very satisfied! The salad was also plentiful.

It takes about 2 hours by car from Tokyo Station to Hakone Yumoto Station. After arriving, enjoy lunch and eating at the shopping streets around the station. At Hakone Akatsuki-an Main Store, which is about a 5-minute drive from Hakone-Yumoto Station, you can enjoy delicious soba noodles made by hand using the famous local water.
I could go from Tokyo to Hakone without a break. After arrival, have lunch at Akatsukian. Tempura soba and soba miso are very delicious! After that, I stopped by "Watanabe Bakery".
Check-in15:00
Arrive at the inn
drinking tea
Take a break in the superb view lobby
About 25 minutes by car from Hakone-Yumoto Station to ryokan in the Gora area. Once you pass through the noren curtain, the scent of Hakone Byakudan will soothe your soul. Soothe away the fatigue of your trip with matcha green tea and sweets while gazing out at the spectacular view of the Hakone Somma in the lobby lounge.
When you enter, you will be greeted by the fragrance. The child also said, "It smells good." ryokan was very kind and comfortable, such as calling the child by name.
Room15:30
feel at ease
Spacious Japanese room
There are 16 guest rooms in total. All of them are Japanese-style rooms with terraces and open-air baths, and there are many rooms that can accommodate up to 5 people. "Kaori" is a 75㎡ room with a 12 tatami Japanese-style room and a Western-style room. You can see the natural garden from the terrace, and you will be healed by the seasonal scenery.
Stayed at Kaori. Children's amenities, yukata, baby futon, baby bath, diaper trash can, and wipes are also available. There was also an electronic blast furnace and I enjoyed the scent ♩
Onsen16:00
In a room with an open-air bath
Keep your mind and body warm
All rooms have open-air baths with free-flowing natural hot springs. You can enjoy onsen without entering the family while watching the natural garden and the Hakone mountain range. Luxurious amenities such as shampoo and basic cosmetics from the cosmetic brand “Mikimoto” born from pearl research.
The eldest son who likes onsen goes in and out of the open-air bath. I was relieved because I could see him playing from the room. Also, there was a baby bath in the room.
Onsen17:00
full of openness
Enjoy the large public bath
The large public bath, which was renewed in 2021, is full of openness. A spacious semi-open-air bath with a moss-covered Japanese garden in front of you. You can enjoy the free-flowing Gora onsen while directly feeling the fresh air.
I took turns with my husband and enjoyed the large public bath and the guest room open-air bath. The large public bath was built like a large open-air bath and was very comfortable!
Dinner18:00
smile on the face
Classy kaiseki cuisine
Dinner is a kaiseki meal made with delicacies from Sagami Bay and the mountains and seas of Izu. Homemade gelato, non-alcoholic wine, 100% fruit juice, and other desserts and drinks are also carefully selected. Enjoy it slowly in a meal with a calm atmosphere.
I got it in a seat separated by a private room style. Bumbo is ready for babies. Children's dishes are full of content! My 8-year-old eldest son was happy to say, "Which one should I eat first?"
Lounge20:30
sweets and drinks
Fun service for children
At the lobby lounge at night, free drinks such as wine and nostalgic sweets are served. Enjoy your post-meal relaxation time in a calm atmosphere. In winter, the fireplace is lit and the flickering flames are soothing.
In addition to alcohol, tea, and juice, there are many cheap sweets such as chocolate and ramune! Children are delighted. Adults also got excited and enjoyed it with "This is nostalgic!"
Night22:00
Relax in your room
Relaxing time for adults only
After the child sleeps, it's time for adults to relax. You can also enjoy drinks in the room refrigerator for free. There are also carefully selected snacks such as tokoroten made with Amakusa from Izu and ryokan 's original Japanese sweets "Usuka", so you can spend a fulfilling time.
Since the bedroom and living room were separate rooms, I enjoyed drinking with my husband after the child went to bed. In addition to sake, juice, and coffee, there are also tokoroten and sweets in the refrigerator.
the 2nd day

Champagne in the morning
After enjoying the morning bath, stop by the lobby lounge. There is a free drink service in the morning, and you can enjoy various drinks such as champagne. While enjoying the exhilarating view, enjoy a luxurious drink after taking a bath.
There were also items for children to play with, such as books and binoculars. While my child looked for birds with binoculars, I slowly had morning champagne.

Breakfast cooked in an earthenware pot
You can also have breakfast at the meal. Fluffy rolled omelet with dashi stock, piping hot dried fish, and fragrant rice cooked in a clay pot. Enjoy a special Japanese breakfast that warms your body.
I chose seasonal grilled fish! There was also a pot full of large cancer mochi and vegetables, which gently soothed my newly awakened body. Children's dishes were almost the same as adults, except for small bowls.

To "Owakudani"
Enjoy sightseeing in Hakone on the second day! While watching the volcanic activity at Owakudani, you can eat a black egg, which is said to extend your life by 7 years. About 15 minutes by car from "Owakudani", "Lake Ashinoko" is recommended for enjoying the expansive scenery.
I ate black eggs at "Owakudani" where smoke rises. For lunch, we had oven-baked pizza at “La Terrazza Ashinoko” on the shores of Lake Ashi. I felt comfortable at the seat where I could see the lake ♩
Return trip15:00
Smile with the whole family
Family trip for 2 days and 1 night at "Hakone Gora Hakone Byakudan". It's an elegant luxury ryokan, but it also offers drinks and sweets that will excite adults and children alike, so the whole family can have a great time.
There were free drinks and other services everywhere, and my husband and children were very good! I'm saying. Children seem to like the bath in the guest room. I look forward to going again.

I left lunch time and went early. Yamakake soba was really delicious. It's good to go down your throat and you'll be pelori in no time.
