Iwamuro onsen, also known as "Niigata's Oku-zashiki", is a onsen rich in nature surrounded by mountains and the Echigo Plain. It is also attractive that it is close to "Yahiko Shrine", which is attracting a lot of attention as a power spot in Niigata. In Showa 38, it was designated as a national recreation onsen area, and the quality of the spring rich in efficacy and the good environment are endorsed. Why don't you go to Iwamuro onsen, where you can enjoy such nature and onsen, a shrine and fresh food from the Japan sea at once?
If you want to spend some quality time together as a couple, it's best to choose an inn with a room with an open-air bath where you won't be disturbed by anyone! You can spend some time just the two of you relaxing, so your tired body and mind will be soothed. Please enjoy some relaxing time just for the two of you.
"Niigata Iwamuro onsen Fujiya" is a long-established ryokan located about 10 minutes by car from JR Iwamuro Station. Originally a restaurant ryokan, it was renovated several times and reborn in 2012 as an inn where you can enjoy high-quality hot springs from its own source. This is the only inn in Iwamuro onsen where you can enjoy hot onsen from its own source!
There are three types of rooms. There are "Rooms with Open-Air Baths" where you can see the Japanese garden from both the room and the open-air bath, "Bedrooms" that are gentle on the legs and back and make it easy to get up and go to bed, and "Japanese-style rooms" where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese ryokan. The rooms with open-air baths have a bath that is full of a sense of openness like this. The tub is also large, so you can take a bath with your boyfriend.
It's interesting that the color of the private onsen changes depending on the quality of the bath. The open-air cypress bath is emerald green, while the indoor stone bath is white, so even if it's the same source, the colors are different. The rooms with open-air baths have a wide veranda. It's also great to cool off with a glass of Niigata sake after your bath. Time flows by leisurely and is very comfortable.
Fujiya's cuisine, created with the theme of "beautiful and healthy," uses a generous amount of Echigo's mountain and sea delicacies. The restaurant offers a full selection of seasonal Niigata delicacies, including the slightly sweet Echigo Mochi Pork and fatty Nodoguro seabass, which can be grilled with salt. There are plenty of menu items to please even gourmet couples. The synergistic effect of onsen is sure to beautify both your skin and your body.

Iwamuro Onsen onsen Takashimaya is about a 10-minute drive from JR Iwamuro Station. The main building is a village headman's residence from the Edo period about 260 years ago, and it is a Japanese inn that conveys the beauty and sophistication of wooden construction to the present day. As it was designated a nationally registered tangible cultural heritage in 2004, you can feel the tradition and history everywhere in the building. This is the perfect place for a high-quality stay, perfect for a wedding anniversary or other special occasion.
There are various types of guest rooms. For couples who like shogi or go, we recommend "Tokiwa," which has been used for shogi and go games. It's exciting to think that many famous games have been played in this room. This room has an open-air bath, so it's nice to stay here and reminisce about the games.
Around May, the owl "Fuku" flies into the garden of the inn. She builds a nest and apparently gives birth to about three chicks. Owls are considered to be auspicious, as they are associated with "Fukurou = no hardships," "Fukuro, Fukukago = good fortune will come," and "Fukuji = safe travels." If you meet one, something good might happen.
Takashimaya, also known as a "restaurant where you can stay overnight," serves carefully prepared traditional Japanese cuisine. If you are staying overnight to celebrate a special occasion such as a wedding anniversary, we recommend the "Nodoguro Shiogamayaki"! This is the chef's pride and joy, a dish made by wrapping the high-quality fish "Nodoguro" in a salt crust and grilling it. Creating a special atmosphere is sure to create memories that will last a lifetime.
