A girls' trip to enjoy a two-day, one-night stay
We will introduce a travelogue written by a woman who went on a trip to Kyoto with her friends and actually stayed at Saka Hotel Kyoto.
First day
Start14:30
About 12 minutes by car from JR Kyoto Station to the inn
Stroll around Kyoto Station
Pick-up service also available
First, head to JR Kyoto Station. If you make a reservation by the day before, you can use the hotel's pick-up service, which is convenient. Pick-up services are also available from around Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Main Line and Kiyomizu-Gojo Station on the Keihan Line. You can also walk there, stopping by tourist spots such as Nishiki Market.
Check-in15:00
Arrive at the inn
beautiful lobby
Welcome
"Saka no Hotel Kyoto" is located in the Higashiyama area, which has a historical atmosphere. When you go from the entrance to the lobby, you will be captivated by its beauty. The earthen walls made by one of Japan's leading plasterers are very impressive!
Tea and sweets were served. After checking in, there was a lounge where you could enjoy free drinks and snacks such as rice crackers.
Room15:30
16 types
Relaxed guest rooms
There are 16 types of rooms available, including superior twin rooms and deluxe twin rooms with open-air baths. All of the rooms are extremely comfortable, combining the elegance of Kyoto with a modern atmosphere!
I stayed in a twin room with a cypress bathtub. The bathroom and toilet are separate. There was a small table and chair set, perfect for having a drink in the evening.
Sightseeing16:00
About 5 minutes on foot from the inn
To "Kiyomizu Temple"
Leisurely stroll
Kiyomizu-dera Temple is a popular tourist spot in Kyoto. It is within walking distance from the inn, so be sure to visit it. Breathe in the aroma of history. Other fun things to do include visiting Japanese cafes or renting a kimono and strolling around the temple.
There are many temples and tourist attractions within walking distance of the inn, so we enjoyed touring the temples and stopping by stylish cafes.
Dinner19:00
Kyoto's food culture
A moment of touch
Dinner is served at the dining area "Kiyomizu Saryo" on the first floor. Enjoy a hot tofu meal, tempura, and kaiseki cuisine. You can feel the Japanese food culture of Kyoto from the tableware used, such as Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki. There are also many attractive restaurants in the area! It's also nice to go out to eat.
Our plan did not include dinner, so we meal at a nearby ramen restaurant that serves limited quantity ramen.
Lounge21:00
smell of coffee
"Otowa Living"
After dinner, why not relax in the guest lounge "Otoha Living" on the third floor? It is fully equipped with a permanent drink and snack booth, massage chairs that you can use freely, and a library. It is open until midnight, so you can relax here.
After eating out, we returned to the hotel and enjoyed free drinks in the lounge.
Night22:00
in a sake bath
Warmly
The biggest feature of "Saka no Hotel Kyoto" is the sake bath. You can enjoy a bath with a generous amount of sake from Fushimi, the best sake place in Kansai. Enjoy a luxurious moment without being disturbed by anyone in the cypress bath or open-air bath in your room.
They offered a service that allowed you to enjoy a sake bath, so I enjoyed a relaxing soak in the bath in my room and got into onsen mood.
Relax22:30
Relax and unwind
Night Time
Spend a relaxing evening. Please take note of the various amenities that are designed to be comfortable to use. The women's amenities include basic skin care and masks! You can also watch YouTube on the TV in the room, so you can spend the evening watching your favorite movie.
There was a service that allowed us to watch YouTube and movies on the TV, so I enjoyed drinking in my room while watching them with friends.
the 2nd day
Morning07:00
Relax your body in the bath
Rich morning time
After a good night's sleep, wake up a little early and head to the morning bath. From the "Private Bath Todou Yasaka," you can see the symbol of the Higashiyama area, "Yasaka Pagoda," in the distance, and enjoy a view that is typical of Kyoto. (*Charged/reservations required). Take a walk around the inn before taking a morning bath to feel refreshed.
There are many temples nearby, so I took a walk in the morning. After that, I had a nice morning bath in the cypress bath in my room.
Breakfast08:30
At "Shimizu Saryo"
healthy breakfast time
One of the pleasures of traveling is the hotel's unique breakfast. meal area is Shimizu Saryo, just like dinner. Enjoy a heart-filling Japanese breakfast with flavorful seaweed and piping hot rice.
We had a Japanese meal of locally produced food. There were many different side dishes and a fresh vegetable salad, so it was a well-balanced and healthy menu, and everything was delicious.
Check-out11:00
leave the inn
at a select shop
Looking for souvenirs
Before you check out, be sure to stop by the select shop on the first floor. In addition to sweets and teas from Kyoto, you'll find other famous Kyoto products waiting for you. Buying matching items with your friends will be a great way to remember your trip.
The front desk staff gave us some recommendations for sightseeing spots. Their manner of speaking and attitude were very polite, and we were able to check out comfortably.
Return trip14:00

Stayed in May 2024
I drove to the site and walked after arriving. Before checking in, I went for a walk around Nishiki Market. Everything I ate was delicious, from croquettes to seafood to dumplings.
