Experience
Healed by Ikaho's onsen and gastronomy
2 days to celebrate birthdays with family
A woman who enjoyed a family trip with her husband and her 4-month-old son will introduce the course when she actually stayed at "Fukuichi".
First day
Start11:00
About 15 minutes by car to the inn
Drive trip start!
Go to a retro museum
The Toy and Doll Car Museum is an easy-to-stop spot on the mountain path leading to Ikaho onsen. Dolls, teddy bears, and old cars from all over the world are on display, and it's worth seeing. Parents and children can enjoy the retro Showa townscape.
Check-in15:00
Arrive at the inn
In the green lobby
check-in
Arrive at your accommodation. The lobby is spacious with garden views. Choose what you like with your child at the free drink corner, and go through the check-in procedures while relaxing. Relax on the comfortable sofas and take in the views.
The parking lot is in the basement of the building, but it is large and easy to understand. I was surprised how big the lobby was! There were many sofas.
Room15:30
Overlooking the mountains of Ikaho
spacious rooms and terraces
There are a total of 83 guest rooms, including Japanese-style rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, and Western-style rooms. You can see the mountains and the stone steps from the guest rooms. Some of the rooms have a terrace overlooking the private garden, so you can enjoy the view of the mountains of Ikaho while relaxing on a garden chair without spending time with your family.
I have a 4-month-old son, so I selected a futon pattern for the Japanese-style room. I had a relaxing time in a bright room with large windows.
Freetime16:00
Around the inn
Ikaho's "stone steps"
Strolling with Parents and Children
Fukuichi 's accommodation building "Senjukan" is a 0-minute walk to the stone steps. The inn is on the 285th step of the 365 stone steps. When you leave the premises, it's already a stone steps street. It's close enough to bring children, so you can leisurely look around the souvenir shops and playgrounds.
After check-in, go for a walk from the entrance directly connected to the stone steps. In the evening, the atmosphere changed again from the daytime, and it was wonderful ^ ^
Dinner18:00
The delicacies of Gunma
Enjoy in a private room
Have dinner at one of the four meal in the hotel. Dinner for the whole family in a private room or a Japanese dining room with wide table spacing. You can leisurely enjoy Gunma's delicacies such as local Ikaho fresh vegetables and Joshu mochi pork.
Relax in a private room and enjoy a Japanese course meal. I received a surprise birthday cake and photo frame. I still have my family photos on display!
Onsen20:00
Gold and Silver Hot Springs of Ikaho
Immerse yourself in free-flowing hot spring water
Inside the museum, you can bathe in both the dark brown “Kin no Yu” and the transparent “Gin no Yu”. In addition to the men's and women's public baths that alternate, there are 3 private baths. In the private bath "Fuwari", you can enjoy 100% free-flowing Kin no Yu.
I went to the public bath with my son. There was a bath chair for babies and a mini crib in the dressing room, so my 4-month-old son was able to take a bath without any burden.
the 2nd day
Morning07:00
in the open-air bath in the early morning
Bathing with the scent of trees
The public bath "Ichinoyu", which alternates between men and women, has an open-air bath that can be used from 5:00 in the morning. You can feel refreshed from the morning while looking at the beautiful mountain range. The women's large public bath is equipped with more than 10 types of shampoo bars to boost your mood!
The men's and women's baths had changed from the day before, so I was able to enjoy a different atmosphere again ^ ^ I was very impressed with the abundant amenities and the beautiful dressing room.
Breakfast08:00
Plenty of seasonal ingredients!
Japanese, Western and Chinese breakfast buffet
For breakfast, a buffet using seasonal ingredients is served at the observation dining restaurant "Reiho" on the 8th floor. A wide range of Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes are lined up, including Joshu side dishes, special dashi chazuke, freshly baked homemade bread, fresh salads and sweets.
Breakfast is also a Japanese course in a private room. We enjoyed a variety of delicious food little by little. It was a luxurious leisurely breakfast. It was very delicious.
Check-out10:00
leave the inn
Buy Gunma Souvenirs
check out
After breakfast, take in the view of the garden or shop for souvenirs at the on-site shop. The yuba konjac we had for breakfast is a popular local product. Check out while watching the lively Ikaho onsen town.
Sightseeing11:00
About 24 minutes by car from the inn
At "Haruna Shrine"
Marvel at the towering rock formations
After leaving the inn, head to Haruna Shrine, which is easily accessible by car. The shrine has a history of over 1,400 years and is lined with huge strangely shaped rocks, giving it a solemn atmosphere. Looking at the carvings of the shrine building and walking along the approach surrounded by trees will give you a refreshing feeling.
I went to "Haruna Shrine". It is a building built in magnificent nature, and delicate sculptures like works of art were given. After that, we went around "Daruma-ji Temple" and the observatory.
Return trip15:00
A long-established ryokan with a history of 420 years

Stayed in July 2021
I went there by my own car. After eating at the long-established Mizusawa udon restaurant Tamaruya, head to the main indoor facility, the Museum of Toys and Dolls and Cars. This was an unexpected pleasure!
