Travel to Hakone at a child-friendly inn

Applekao.0301, who traveled to Hakone with her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, actually stayed at "Hakone onsen Tsurui no Yado Shiunso".

First day

Start10:00

About 70 minutes by car from the city center to the inn

in a stress-free car
Depart for Hakone with children

Hakone, which has good access from the city center, is a recommended area for beginners traveling with children. When traveling with children, there are many things to worry about, so traveling by car is safe. Leave with plenty of time to spare, and keep an eye on your child while taking breaks.

Sightseeing11:30

About 25 minutes by car to the inn

Around "Lake Ashinoko"
Leisurely stroll

The area around Lake Ashinoko is full of fun spots for families with children, such as pleasure boats, aquariums and parks! There are plenty of relaxing cafes and restaurants that are friendly to families, so the whole family can enjoy themselves.

Stayed in April 2021

After having lunch at "La Terrazza", I took a walk around the lake. My daughter also made her footbath debut at the "Bakery Table" footbath that I stopped by for tea♪ It was fun.

Check-in15:00

Arrive at the inn

The entrance carved out of the rock
Go through to the lobby

The entrance that hollowed out a big rocky mountain welcomes you! After passing through the rock tunnel, there is a lobby overlooking the mountain stream of Hayakawa. This is an inn that welcomes families with children and maternity.

appleko.0301

The inn is also kind and safe. There is a veranda terrace nearby where you can see the river.

Room15:15

Some have open-air baths
Spacious guest room overlooking the deep green

The inn's proud rooms are so spacious that three generations can stay together in one room. There are also rooms with open-air baths, so you can relax in Tonosawa no Yu while staying in your room. There are plenty of baby goods available for rent, such as formula pots and bouncers, which is reassuring!

appleko.0301

Stayed in a deluxe room with windows facing the river. The view was beautiful and the room was spacious and comfortable. There are also children's chairs and mats for naps, so you can spend a comfortable time.

Onsen15:45

A unique private bath
My daughter is so excited!

Even if you don't have a room with an open-air bath, there are two types of private baths, so don't worry. This is the "Danshaku no Yu" that you can enter for free. The ancient Japanese cypress bathtub is a rare sight, and even children will be fascinated by it! You can enjoy onsen without worrying about the surroundings and without the family entering the water.

appleko.0301

My daughter was having a blast in the uniquely designed onsen, which was also used in the Hakone advertising poster. Both private onsen are very nice.

Dinner17:30

Relax in your room
Creative seasonal cuisine

For dinner, creative kaiseki cuisine is served in your room. The hand-made 100% buckwheat noodles made with natural water are exquisite! Elementary school students have children's kaiseki meals, and children under elementary school have children's plates such as hamburgers. There is also a plan for the first meal, which is perfect for celebration trips.

appleko.0301

Since it was in-room dining, I was able to enjoy my meal slowly. Seasonal sashimi, grilled fish, and handmade soba noodles were very chewy and delicious.

Relax19:00

feel the murmuring
Healing open-air bath

After dinner, go to the public bath. There is an open-air bath where you can enjoy the murmuring of the mountain stream and the scenery, and an indoor bath where you can relax. The dressing room has a crib and a trash can for diapers, so you can use it with peace of mind even with children. There is also a drink service after bathing.

appleko.0301

The open-air bath at night was dark and my daughter seemed a little scared, and it was a good memory. I was healed by the sound of the river.

the 2nd day

Morning06:30

Monopoly in the family from the morning!
Enjoy the private open-air bath

Another private bath "Kanzan no Yu". There is a charge for this. Because there are plenty of private baths, even children can enjoy onsen to their heart's content. You can use it even in the morning, so enjoy the morning bath and start the second day of your trip feeling refreshed♪

appleko.0301

Enjoy onsen from the morning! I went to the outside private onsen that I was looking forward to. It was very spacious and the atmosphere was nice, and I entered with a family of three.

Breakfast08:00

Taste of Hakone
with hot tea

For breakfast, you can enjoy dried horse mackerel caught from the Odawara fishing port and the famous sea bream chazuke served with the most soup stock in your room. Depending on the season, you can enjoy a refreshing breakfast on the terrace along the mountain stream.

appleko.0301

I had a Japanese breakfast with a good amount. Ochazuke was very delicious.

Let's talk on the valley terrace♪

Take a walk around the hotel until you check out. Cross the big bridge where you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons, and enjoy a leisurely chat on the valley terrace. If you don't have any souvenirs yet, don't forget to check the shop.

appleko.0301

A gift of Anpanman tissue when parting from the inn! I was very happy, and I was able to show off the "thank you" that I had just learned.
