Get in a car with a friend and start a driving trip. As you leave the city center, the scenery of majestic mountains and lush greenery spreads out from the train window, and the feeling of traveling gets excited.

Arrived at "Ikaho onsen Kokuya", which is located near Ikaho's famous stone steps. The inside of the building retains the dignity of a long-established store, but has a modern and relaxing atmosphere. The "Tsurushi Hina" decorated in the lobby is also a popular photo spot.
The river was flowing in the lobby and it was a gorgeous atmosphere. We had a welcome drink with tea and Japanese sweets, and we were able to spend an elegant time.

There are 39 guest rooms in total. There are various types of rooms, including Japanese-style rooms with open-air baths where you can enjoy free-flowing onsen, and Japanese-Western rooms with beds in a pretty modern Japanese space. Each one has a different taste, and you can enjoy staying over and over again.
We stayed in a room called "Hana no Shizuku". When you open the door of the room, the first thing you see is the open-air bath on the back terrace! I feel so good!

At Kokuya, you can rent cute items such as colored yukata, basket bags, and lanterns. After changing into a stylish yukata, take a stroll down the retro stone steps. Enjoy eating while walking, shooting, stop by onsen and footbaths.
You can enjoy strawberry shakes and target shooting, or climb the stone steps to see the illuminated Kajika Bridge. I took a lot of pictures.

Enjoy the gourmet of Gunma
Dinner is a kaiseki meal full of Gunma delicacies. The dishes, which include Joshu beef, Japanese pork mochi pork, and seasonal wild vegetables, look gorgeous. There is also a room-only plan where you can have breakfast and dinner in a completely private room at Ikaho Komachi.
I ate Joshu beef sukiyaki course. There were various kinds from fish to meat and vegetables, and I was very satisfied.

The open-air bath in the guest room was the best feeling that I had the scenery in front of me all to myself! !

In the morning, relax in the large communal bath with two bathtubs or the open-air bath. Let's spend a superb morning time relaxing with the majestic view of the Sankuni Mountains and the Tanigawa mountain range and the soothing "Golden Hot Springs" flowing directly from the source.
There were various kinds of large public baths and I was able to enjoy them. I was also happy that the reservation-only private bath, which usually requires a separate fee, is open as a women's bath in the morning.

There are large public baths "Nagame no Yu" and "Nozomi no Yu" in the hotel. The men's and women's baths are alternated, and both can enjoy the "Kogane no Yu", which is fed directly from the source. "Nagame no Yu" also has an open-air bath with a view of Mt. Tanigawa.
I was able to enter slowly while enjoying the scenery like a Japanese garden. It was good that it was vacant ♪

Dinner is a multi-course dinner featuring seasonal wild vegetables and other ingredients from Gunma. Sukiyaki of Kamiju beef and Japanese pork glutinous pork is especially popular. If you want to enjoy being alone with two during the meal, we recommend the plan where you can have dinner and breakfast at the completely private meal "Ikaho Komachi"!
For dinner, we had a kaiseki meal. The main sukiyaki was very delicious. The portion was larger than it looked and I was very satisfied♪ I enjoyed conversation in a semi-private room.

Breakfast is a Japanese-style meal that is typical of ryokan. Miso soup with plenty of ingredients, dengaku of Gunma's specialty "Shimonita Konnyaku", egg dishes, and side dishes of white rice are lined up. The gentle taste will fill your stomach and heart.
The breakfast was also Japanese, with a variety of wild vegetables. The miso soup was also very delicious, making it the best breakfast.

The Ikaho Ropeway connects the onsen town and Miharashi Station at an altitude of 955m. What awaits you at the end of the four-minute flight is the Tokimeki Deck, which offers a panoramic view of Mt. Akagi and Mt. Tanigawa. Enjoy a commemorative photo with him against the backdrop of the refreshing scenery.
We rode the ropeway and enjoyed the scenery of Ikaho onsen. After that, I returned to the stone steps again, played games such as shooting games, and enjoyed eating while walking, then went home♪
