"Yukairo Kikuya" has been in business for 400 years in Shuzenji onsen, and many famous writers, including Natsume Soseki, have stayed here. It's fun to stroll around, finding designs such as beams, corridors, and transparent glass that evoke the romance of the Taisho era. The banquet cuisine, where each person can choose their favorite main dish, is served in gorgeous dishes that are delicious to the eye as well. The late-night snack "Yonaki Soba" also tickles the wandering spirit.

"Shuzenji plum grove"
A plum grove in the mountains of Shuzenji. In February, the pink color spreads and makes you feel the arrival of spring. If the weather is good, you can also see Mt. Fuji. It is about 400m from the parking lot, so it is recommended to take a walk and enjoy the scenery.

There was no tea or other service this time due to the corona wreck, but when I came before, I was happy to have tea and sweets.

There are various guest rooms such as the modern "Main Building", the "Attachment" with an open-air bath, and the "Bettei Water Storyteller" beyond the suspension bridge. The “Soseki-no-ma” where Natsume Soseki rested is also special.
I spent a relaxing time in the open-air bath in my room, in the free private open-air bath, and drinking coffee in the break room.

Appetizers, bowls, and sashimi are fixed, but you can choose your favorite from the menu for "table dish," "Western dish," "simmered dish," and "meal." You can also choose something different from him and share it. Beef stew is also popular. Fully enjoy the blessings of Izu.
I was satisfied with the variety of Kaiseki dishes. Especially the sashimi tuna was sweet, and it was very delicious with the raw wasabi that I grated myself.

For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese and Western dishes. The simmered dishes and horse mackerel that are carefully made one by one, and the ohitsu rice with several kinds of small bowls are lined up. Western food is a lineup that goes well with coffee, such as soup, bread, and salad.
I chose Japanese food. There are many small plates with rice, and there are also dried and boiled horse mackerel, which is very satisfying. It was a very delicious breakfast!

Relax until check-out at 11:00. You can walk along the corridor, enjoy the open-air bath, and read the works of Soseki Natsume while drinking coffee at "Soseki no Iori". It is also a good idea to purchase Izu specialties at the "souvenir shop".
