A onsen ryokan with Matsumoto folk art. Jazz with authentic audio has a great atmosphere!

The popular open-air bath "Tsukimi Pond". The beautiful blue stone heals not only your body but also your eyes. Experience
Traveling to Matsumoto as a couple
Two days and one night filled with culture and history
hana.hana_5, who traveled to Nagano with her husband, will introduce the course when she actually stayed at Utsukushigahara onsen ryokan.
First day
Start13:00
About 13 minutes by car from Yohashira Shrine to the inn
smell of culture
To Matsumoto
Matsumoto is an elegant castle town and is known for its urban development that thrives on art and culture. There are places like the Matsumoto Performing Arts Center where you can appreciate performing arts, and the Yohashira Shrine, a power spot loved by locals.
Check-in15:00
Arrive at the inn
A mixture of Japanese and modern
to a stylish space
Once you step into ryokan Sugimoto, you will definitely be overwhelmed by the playful interior! Listening to the sounds of jazz playing from a full-fledged audio system will make you feel excited.
First of all, I was drawn into the atmosphere in the lounge! Enjoy a cup of tea and dried tomatoes while listening to jazz, and check in while resting your feet on the bedrock.
Room15:30
unique
Excitement in the room
There are 17 rooms in all, with a rich lineup of tasteful variations. Choose from a suite, a room with a hearth, a folk art style room, a twin hideaway, and more, depending on your taste and travel style.
I stayed in a twin room with a bed in a Japanese style room. It is comfortable to have a drink while watching the night view of Matsumoto!
Freetime16:30
free time is
Enjoy exploring the facility!
Inside the museum, there are many spaces that stimulate curiosity. The lounge "Salon Rira" is equipped with a spherical audio system and antique furniture, making it ideal for reading. The underground passage leading to meal will give you the feeling of heading to a secret base☆
I enjoyed looking at folk crafts, a room with pottery, a room with books, and so on.
Relax17:30
onsen flowing directly from the source
Enjoy mist sauna
onsen with an abundant amount of water that gushes out from the source on the premises. The spring quality is a soft “alkaline simple onsen”. There are various baths waiting for you, such as the 24-hour private cypress bath and the mist sauna, which is less suffocating.
Dinner18:00
The taste of Shinshu
Thoroughly savored dinner
There are two meal in the hotel. Dishes that make the most of the natural flavors of the ingredients, using plenty of seasonal local ingredients, are attractive. Depending on the season, you can also enjoy gibier cuisine. The owner's hand-made soba is on a first-come, first-served basis and reservations are required.
Creative cuisine that makes the most of seasonal ingredients. Finally, enjoy the soba made by the owner! Everything was excellent!! ︎ The sake tasting set was a lot of fun!
Night21:00
full of playfulness
relax at the bar
"Bar Hibiki" has carefully selected whiskey and wine. The beautiful wood grain table is eye-catching. The audio system plays superb jazz and blues, perfect for adults to relax.

Check-out10:00
leave the inn
high-quality space
enjoy till the end
The customer service shines with casual hospitality, and Matsumoto Mingei furniture where you can feel the warmth of handicrafts... I was able to have a relaxing stay in a high-quality space. It's a pity, but I checked out and left for sightseeing in Matsumoto.
The wildflowers that were arranged were different from the day before, and I enjoyed it. The polite and soft customer service was comfortable!

Stayed in August 2021
I went to "Matsumoto Performing Arts Center" to see "Children's Film Festival 12" that my husband was involved in. After strolling through Nakamachi Street, visit Yohashira Shrine. Take a taxi to the inn.
